Dr. Helen Crompton is an international expert in educational technology. With a PhD in Educational Technology and Mathematics Education, she holds the position of Associate Professor of Educational Technology at Old Dominion University, VA, USA. Crompton has presented at national and international conferences on the topic of educational technology and published over 100 articles, book chapters, and white papers in this field.Crompton’s research is primarily focused on mobile learning. She was officially named as one of nine mobile learning experts in the world by the United Nations technology division ITU and often presents and participates in policy forums at UNESCO’s headquarters in Paris. During the past decade, Crompton has also worked with the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). As an ISTE faculty member and Instructional Consultant, she has designed courses for ISTE on Mobile Learning, technology integration and Artificial Intelligence. Crompton holds many awards in the U.S. and England, her home country, for her service to the field of educational technology and the innovative ways she has extended the boundaries of traditional pedagogies. One such award is the Outstanding Faculty Award from the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) 2018. The Commonwealth's highest honor for faculty at Virginia's public and private colleges and universities.
