The research design used for this study was a descriptive survey of the correctional-type method. The study population consisted of 100,147 students from 407 public senior secondary schools. The sample size was determined using the multi-stage sampling procedure in which 300 respondents were chosen from 20 Public senior secondary schools. The research instrument used was titled "Environmental Factors Questionnaire (EFQ) was used to elicit information from the concerned respondent using a 4-point Likert rating scale, and "Students’ Academic Achievement Proforma” was used to obtain the students’ WAEC results in core subjects (Mathematics and English Language) from 2019 to 2023. The research questions were analysed using descriptive statistics of mean, standard deviation, frequency count and ranking order. In contrast, all research hypotheses were analysed using inferential Pearson Product Moment correlation Statistics at a 0.05 significance level. The study's findings revealed a high level of students’ academic achievement in public senior secondary schools in Kwara State based on the two core subjects and a significant relationship between environmental factors and students’ academic achievement in Kwara State public senior secondary schools. It was recommended that the government and other concerned stakeholders continue to make provisions for school facilities and ensure proper maintenance to maintain students’ academic success.
