Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology has created both opportunities and challenges for Islamic educational institutions, particularly pesantren, which must respond to digital transformation while preserving their religious, cultural, and educational values. This study examines the integration of pesantren values and information technology at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid and explores its implications for the development of multidimensional Islamic education. Employing a qualitative case study design, the study collected data through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentary analysis involving pesantren administrators, wali asuh, santri, students, and educational institutions involved in technology-based educational development. The findings indicate that information technology has contributed to increased learning interactivity, greater administrative efficiency, broader access to educational materials, and faster communication within the pesantren community. However, the implementation of technology remains constrained by unstable internet connectivity, unequal access to technological resources, limited staff training, and differences in technology acceptance among stakeholders. The findings further demonstrate that successful digital transformation in pesantren requires more than technological infrastructure; it depends on institutional leadership, human-resource development, supportive policies, and the ability to align technological innovation with established pesantren values. The experience of Pondok Pesantren Nurul Jadid offers broader insights into how Islamic educational institutions can navigate digital transformation and develop educational models that are locally grounded and responsive to global educational demands.
