The Professional Nursing Journal was first established in 2014 by STIKES Nurul Jadid Probolinggo. However, at that time, it was available only in print. In 2018, after STIKES became the Faculty of Health Sciences at Nurul Jadid University, JKP began updating its content with an online version. The hope is that JKP will become an open-access nursing journal. In 2025, the Professional Nursing Journal applied for scientific journal accreditation and received Sinta 4 accreditation, as stated in Letter No. 0173/C3/DT.05.00/2025.ng dalam Nomor Surat: 0173/C3/DT.05.00/2025.
