AbstractThe Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and the Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) share similar transmission routes, making coinfection with both a significant clinical problem, particularly in healthcare facilities such as community health centers, which play a crucial role in early detection. According to national epidemiological data from 2023, an estimated 6–10% of HIV patients are also infected with HCV, and this coinfection accelerates the progression of liver disease due to a decline in CD4+ lymphocyte function. This study aims to describe the characteristics of HIV patients based on HCV test results at Community Health Center X in Yogyakarta from April 2025 to April 2026. The study employed a descriptive quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The population included all HIV patients who underwent HCV testing at the facility; total sampling was used to select 84 respondents, and the data were then analyzed univariately using SPSS. The study results show that the majority of respondents were male (90.5%), aged 17–45 years, and belonged to the men who have sex with men (MSM) population group. All HIV infections occurred through sexual transmission, with no history of injection drug use or blood transfusions. Most patients (82.1%) had been on antiretroviral therapy for 1–5 years.
