AbstractMadrasah Dharmaniyah is a private school with a vision to produce graduates who excel in quality and competition, and have a global outlook while building noble character. The cultivation of character values is carried out through the tradition of reading Yasin every morning before the first hour begins. Spiritual teaching encourages increased worship and good behaviour at school, at home and in the community. Students' religious characters, especially in Madrasah Dharmaniyah, develop along with psychological development, affecting the religious dimension. Observations show this character development is reflected in respect for the struggle of ancestors and devotion to the Qur'an, particularly in religious education and personality learning. In the classroom, teachers are faced with a variety of challenging student character differences, as well as the importance of subject customization and management of school facilities. With a careful approach to religious character development and customization to students' needs, Madrasah Dharmaniyah moulds academically intelligent and religiously sincere individuals with an inherited ethos of ancestral struggle.
