AbstractThis study aims to describe the leadership role of the madrasah principal in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum in mathematics learning at MAN 1 Probolinggo, based on the Behavioral Theory approach, which includes two main dimensions: initiating structure and consideration. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings show that in the initiating structure step, the principal builds a structured and systematic work system. This is reflected in the preparation of the School Operational Curriculum (KOSP), the formation of a curriculum development team, supervision of the preparation of teaching tools, and the provision of supporting facilities for mathematics learning. Meanwhile, in the consideration dimension, the principal demonstrates concern for teachers’ emotional well-being through open communication, support for innovation, and the creation of safe and reflective spaces for teachers. These two dimensions complement each other in creating conducive work environment that supports the achievement of learning objectives within the Merdeka Curriculum. Thus, the principal demonstrates a transformative leadership profile capable of balancing technical and relational aspects in managing curriculum change. |
