Abstract

The rapid integration of digital technologies has transformed educational practices worldwide. Islamic education, traditionally delivered through madrasahs and pesantrens, faces the challenge of adapting to modern digital learning environments. Understanding the impact of e-learning and digital platforms is crucial for enhancing teaching, learning, and student engagement. This study aims to explore the awareness, attitudes, and usage of e-learning platforms among Islamic education teachers and students, examining how digital tools influence teaching effectiveness and student engagement. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 100 participants from the education faculty of Kabul University. A structured questionnaire assessed demographic information, digital literacy, awareness of e-learning tools, attitudes toward digital learning, and frequency of platform usage. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, cross-tabulation, and correlation analysis to identify significant relationships between demographic variables and engagement with digital platforms. Findings indicate high awareness of digital tools, with teachers and students acknowledging their potential to enhance learning outcomes and engagement. Challenges such as limited internet access, insufficient training, and device shortages were identified. Participants emphasized the importance of integrating technology with traditional teaching methods to achieve optimal educational outcomes. Conclusion: Digital platforms can transform Islamic education by enhancing engagement, learning efficiency, and accessibility. Strategic training, infrastructure improvement, and blended learning approaches are essential for successful integration.
