Author Guidelines

Authors who wish to submit manuscripts to CODEX: Journal of Software Engineering must follow the journal template and writing format as provided.

General Requirements

Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication in any other journal. All manuscripts must be written in clear academic English and follow the official journal template (.docx).

The manuscript must be typed using Times New Roman, single spacing, one-column format on A4 paper (21 cm x 29.7 cm) with margins of 3 cm on all sides. Font size for the main text is 11 pt.

Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should be organized in the following order:

  1. Title (English, 13 pt, bold, italic, capital letters)

  2. Author(s) Name (12 pt, bold)

  3. Author Affiliation (11 pt)

  4. Email Address (11 pt)

  5. Corresponding Author

  6. Abstract (150–200 words, English, 10 pt, single paragraph)

  7. Keywords (3–5 keywords)

  8. Introduction

  9. Literature Review

  10. Research Methods

  11. Results and Discussion

  12. Conclusion

  13. Acknowledgement (optional)

  14. References

Abstract and Keywords

The abstract must be written in English in one paragraph with a length of 150–200 words. It should briefly describe the background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusion of the research. Authors must provide 3–5 relevant keywords.

Tables and Figures

All tables and figures must be numbered sequentially using Arabic numerals and cited in the text.

  • Table titles should be placed above the table.

  • Figure captions should be placed below the figure.

  • Tables should use only horizontal lines.

  • Figures must be in JPG or PNG format and clearly readable.

Research Methods

The research methods section must clearly describe the procedures, models, algorithms, frameworks, or system design used in the research. Authors are encouraged to present research flowcharts or system frameworks where relevant.

Results and Discussion

The results section presents research findings objectively, supported by tables, figures, or data. The discussion section explains and interprets the results, links them with relevant theories, and compares them with previous studies.

Conclusion

The conclusion should clearly state the main findings of the research and their contributions. Suggestions for future research may also be included.

References

References must follow APA (American Psychological Association) style. All cited references must appear in the reference list. Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero.

 
 
 

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
