Application of Norm-Referenced Assessment (PAN) at Vocational High School

Abstract

Evaluation is one of the things in learning assessment activities, while assessment is part of the subsystem of the learning component that can provide quality assurance or quality for the continuity of learning at a later stage. In evaluation, there are two methods that can be used in the assessment of learning outcomes, namely, norm-based assessment (PAN) and norm-based assessment (PAP). The purpose of this research is to know the implementation of the criterion-referenced assessment application in the school. The subjects of this study were 12th grade students at Muhammadiyah Vocational High School Malang, more specifically in Arabic language subjects. The method used in this study is the qualitative method using Milles and Huberman analysis techniques. The results obtained are that in the assessment of learning outcomes, teachers at Muhammadiyah Vocational High School Malang do not know anything about norm-referenced assessment (PAN) so that the two assessment approaches were not specifically applied in this class.
