Allegation of Research Misconduct

JUMPA: Jurnal Manajemen Pendidikan takes every allegation of research misconduct seriously. Allegations concerning a manuscript under review or an article already published are handled fairly, confidentially, and promptly in accordance with the guidelines and flowcharts of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Forms of Research Misconduct

Research misconduct includes, but is not limited to:

  • data fabrication or falsification;
  • plagiarism and self-plagiarism;
  • duplicate or redundant publication and simultaneous submission;
  • citation manipulation;
  • undisclosed conflicts of interest;
  • unethical research involving human participants, including the absence of informed consent;
  • inappropriate authorship practices.

Prevention

The journal takes reasonable steps to prevent misconduct through initial editorial screening, similarity checking with Turnitin, double-blind peer review, and post-publication monitoring. The journal, its editors, reviewers, and publisher will never encourage or knowingly allow misconduct to take place.

Reporting an Allegation

Allegations should be sent in writing to the Editor-in-Chief through jmppascaunuja@gmail.com, with supporting evidence. Anonymous reports may be considered if the evidence is clear and verifiable.

Investigation Procedure

  1. The Editor-in-Chief conducts an initial assessment to determine whether the allegation is within the scope of misconduct and supported by sufficient evidence.
  2. If the allegation is credible, the corresponding author is informed and given an opportunity to respond within a reasonable time.
  3. The editor may consult the Editorial Board, reviewers, or other experts. Where necessary, the authors' institution may be contacted.
  4. All parties are treated with discretion, and confidentiality is maintained as far as possible.

Possible Outcomes

Depending on the findings, the journal may take no action if the allegation is unfounded; request clarification or revision; reject the manuscript; or publish a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction. Serious cases may be reported to the authors' institution. If the authors do not respond or the explanation is unsatisfactory, the journal may act based on the available evidence.

This policy should be read together with the Publication Ethics, Plagiarism Policy, and Correction and Retraction pages of the journal.
