Plagiarism

Every manuscript submitted to Atthar: Journal of Innovative Islamic Education is checked for similarity before it is sent for review.

Screening

  • Manuscripts are checked using [Turnitin].
  • The maximum acceptable similarity index is [20] per cent, excluding references and properly attributed quotations.
  • Manuscripts exceeding this threshold are returned to the author without review.

What Counts as Plagiarism

  • Reproducing another person's words, ideas, data, or figures without attribution.
  • Paraphrasing another person's work closely without citation.
  • Reusing substantial parts of one's own published work without disclosure (self-plagiarism).

Action

Where plagiarism is identified before publication, the manuscript is rejected. Where it is identified after publication, the article is retracted, a retraction notice is published in its place, and the authors' institution may be informed.
