AT-TURAS: Jurnal Studi Keislaman
at-turas (ISSN: 2355-567X, E-ISSN: 2460-1063) is a peer-reviewed journal in the field of Islamic Studies, devoting to provide an intellectual athmosphere of new Islamic trends in society and beyond. This journal warmly welcomes contributions from scholars of related disciplines. It is published twice a year (January - June and July - December) by Center for Publication, Research, and Social Empowerment (LP3M) Nurul Jadid University Paiton Probolinggo.
Two decades or more, in the global scheme, Islamic studies have been enforced to take broader paradigms from dogmatic-theology to popular-religious. Islamic studies is not merely discussing on sacred corpus only, but everyday life of Islam also. In academic space, this field has increasingly been an intersection -if not a contestation- across disciplines, such as political science, anthropology, sociology, history, economics, media, and cultural studies.
This journal, serving as a forum for the study of Islam in Indonesia and other parts of the world within its local and challenging global context, supports focused studies of particular theme and interdisciplinary studies. It has become a medium of diffusion and exchange of ideas and research findings, so much so that researchers, writers, and readers from various traditions of learning have interacted in the scholarly manner.

This journal warmly welcomes contributions from scholars of related disciplines.
Thus, Indonesian and non-Indonesian scholars have enriched the studies published in the journal. Although not from the beginning, journal Educational Management presents highly qualified scholarly articles, improvement—in terms format, style, and academic quality—never ceases. Now with articles written in Arabic and English and with the fair procedure of peer-review, Journal Educational Management continues publishing researches and studies pertinent to Educational Management studies with various dimensions and approaches. This proceeding is a collection of the articles of the participants of The 1st International Conference on Education and Islamic Culture (ICEISC), with the theme of Rethinking Islamic Education Toward Cultural Transformation, Faculty of Tarbiyah, Islamic Institute of Nurul Jadid Probolinggo, East Java, Indonesia, 14 th September 2017. This conference is aimed as a place of academic friction for enthusiasts and observers of the interrelationship of Islamic education and culture, either in the form of approach, thought, or locus of study of Islamic education. Hence, themes in ICEISC are in harmony with the main theme of Islamic education to face cultural transformation. It gives the development of antagonistic culture with all its debates and creates eroded cultural values that should be transferred to the next generation.
